Project Description As a Data Warehouse Developer, you will be joining the newly formed Data Engineering team, working closely with the Sr. Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain a data warehouse for California Closets. Your input on Azure technologies and industry best practices in the field of data warehouse architecture and modelling will be instrumental in reaching our team’s goal of accurate and secure data that enables data-driven decisions across the organization. This is essentially starting from scratch – need to build out their Azure data warehouse with the data they currently have. Looking for this person to help in the definition/strategy and then help set up pipelines from scratch across multiple systems, i.e. CRM (Salesforce), ERP (Epicor), and other internal systems like DASH (legacy system – SQL database) and more! Duties/Day to Day Overview Determine database structural requirements by analyzing applications and data from existing systems and by collaborating with business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools for data-driven decision making across the organization. Design, build, and maintain databases, data warehouses using logical data models, ETL layer design and data integration strategies. Create, maintain, and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines; map, scrub and transform data from various sources. Implement processes to improve data gathering by documenting and establishing standards for modeling, stored procedures, replication, regulations, and security to meet technical and business goals. Deliver on the project roadmap, including defining future state roadmaps for data warehouse applications, and support of the ideation, planning and prioritization of future business intelligence needs. Top Requirements (Must haves) Data engineering and data warehouse experience DW/BI experience creating and maintaining end to end data architectures. Experience setting up data pipelines from scratch Experience with Azure Data Warehouse solutions (2 years minimum) Experience creating and maintaining ETL packages SSRS/PowerBI SSIS/Alteryx or equivalents. Advanced T-SQL Query Scripting and Performance Tuning Proficient with MS Office and Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence) Experience with Agile software development methodologies. Soft Skills Must have strong time management skills Excellent verbal and written communications skills to collaborate with others. Must be able to work independently to solve complex data transformation issues. Additional Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
